Social Task – Vatican Assassins – Peccadilloes – Vegascendents – at Boomers Bar – Las Vegas, NV

September 25, 2009

Social TaskThe first band to play kind of threw me for a loop, I saw San-d from The Peccadilloes setting up a drum kit, so I assumed she was helping out her friends.  Well it turned out that San-d and J-sin are in V.A.s as well as The Peccadilloes. They started their set and i was amazed with San-d's drumming. I have a thing for drummers. The whole band was very tight. They played about  30 minutes or so, and they were really good. Good hard Rock n' Roll.

Up 2nd was a band from Huntington Beach Calif. SOCIAL TASK. Social Task originated in Huntington Beach, CA. in the fall of '79 and consists of members of The Idols, China White and Pennywise. Social Task is: Don Snell-Guitar Scott Sisunik-Lead Vocals-Mark Mega-Bass Hank Jacobson-Drums. www.SocialTask.com
Social Task
From the moment they hit their first notes these guys were full of energy and charisma. They Rocked Boomers for about 45 minutes. With songs like Take Take Take, Nymphomaniac, Bomb Iran, and a plethora of hardcore hits. This is one kick ass band, They will be touring definitely don't miss them if you can help it. I got a copy of their c.d. called "DEMO RELEASE" Huntington Beach. And the most incredible song on this c.d. is a cover song by Old School Punks  "THE EYES" The song is called DISNEYLAND!!!  I thought the eyes version was awesome, which it is but Social Task does their own equally awesome version.

3rd up was The Peccadilloes. Now we have SAN-D on vocals and J-sin on guitar. Tad on Bass, James on guitar and Jarrett on drums. I have this band a number of times and am always amazed by them. It so happens this night they were put on a bill with Some really good bands. This brings me to a point when they were playing and I was Talking with Scott of Social, and said how her voice reminds me of THE EYES, that was when i found out Social did a cover of Disneyland. Not to take away from the Peccadilloes, they played an incredible 30 to 40 minute set. I love this band, they always make me feel good after seeing them play. While in Vegas definitely see The Peccadilloes.

Up 4th was a local cover band called The Vegascendents. They are a Descendents cover band and these guys kick major ASS!!!! Gilbert on drums is just amazing. With Fat Milo on vocals, Gilbert on drums, Tysonage on guitar, and Jeremy on bass, these guys bang out tune after tune and they hit the stage about 1:30 or 2:00 a.m. and the crowd was still full of energy. You can't help but like this band. As a Matter of fact I am going to see them tonight. They are a High Energy band. If you like The Descendents  you will  definitely like this band GUARANTEED.
